STREET CLASH BERLIN

The web site Street Clash, which pits countries against each other in head to head fashion combat has some great pics from Berlin this week. We particularly liked this one...

STYLE: THE TEENAGERS

The Teenagers, the French indie band that catapulted to stardom thanks to a MySpace page is known for their rude lyrics, synth-infused party music and nerdy eyewear. These international cool kids are setting trends worldwide with their sceney parties and gigs and their anti-style style.

We've got some pics after the jump.

WHAT ARE YOU WEARING TODAY?

A new photo exhibition documents what some of the market’s die hard style aficionados are wearing now. Pushing the essence of a recent internet phenomenon to its extremes, NYC-based photographer Sidney Lo embarked on creating a visual record of something typically taken for granted in our daily lives-- the outfits we wear each and every day. A new show, called What are you wearing today? originates from the popular Superfuture Supertalk message board. The site features a thread affectionately known as WAYWT which spans thousands of pages containing photographs documenting what Superfuture's members are wearing each and every day.

What are you wearing today? turns the idea of a public visual record into a personal diary, and reduces the daunting nature of the project- a year's worth of snapshots- into something altogether more easily understood by even those that have never once stopped to think about the clothes on their back after they've thrown them on. The show also evokes elements of yet another niche integral to the Supertalk message board: that of raw, unwashed denim. tying every single photo together is the exact same pair of jeans, which, once dark and full of indigo dye, eventually became a canvas upon which 367 days worth of experience came to light.

Presented in collaboration with Superfuture, and sponsored by iconic Japanese denim shop self edge, what are you wearing today opens on March 27th, on view through April 19th at 721 Broadway. 8th floor, NYC

STREET PICS: ELECTRIC FOUNTAIN MANIA!

Last night the art world came out to celebrate the unveiling of a new, amazing piece of public art-- the light fountain at Rockerfeller Center designed by British artists Tim Noble and Sue Webster. Hot cider was served out on the plaza, following a British-themed after party at a loft overlooking St Patty's and the fountain, that was attended by the likes of Tara Subkoff, Marc Ecko, Casey Spooner, Jeffrey Deitch and other movers and shakers in the contemporary art world. Art scenesters make some interesting fashion statements. Totally devoid of any of the trend info we see at fashion parties, there were some really cool/weird looks at last night's parties. We've got pics after the jump.

COPENHAGEN REPORT

We just got back from Copenhagen and we saw tons of great style. While the CPH show was a bit too urban for us (we saw a bunch of brands we havent thought about in 5 years-- like Dada and  Apple Bottoms) the smaller, Gallery show was great. We hobnobbed with the kids from Wood Wood, Julian Red and Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair. We also loved many of the Swedish labels; Pour, Whyred and Velour. We've got some pics of some of the people we met after the jump.

STREET PICS NYC: TIM HAMILTON PRESENTATION

Updated menswear classics was the look among the crowd at the Tim Hamilton presentation on Monday night. Lots of tweed, ties, and tartans as well as vests, toggle coats and military looks. Neckwear was practically a must with ties, bow ties and scarves on almost everyone. We particularly like Miguel Enamorado's look (pictured left)-- the small fur scarf and sleek overcoat was right on with Hamilton's slightly louche, but ultra-chic vibe.

Lots of photos after the jump!

STREET PICS: AT DUCKIE BROWN

We just came back from the Tents at Bryant Park-- checked out the Duckie Brown show. It was quite a departure from the design duo's signature color infused collections. Steven and Daniel used  palette of all black with just a hint of olive, eggplant or silver and the presentation, punctuated by a total lack of music made a real statement. The Duckies used some innovative fabrics, like coated cotton and rubberized leather and layered them with menswear classics like pinstripe, Prince of Wales check and cashmere. Silhouettes were progressive -- low crotch pinstripe trousers, oversized suit jackets worn under sweaters, slim but chic trousers. The duo also unveiled 2 jackets done in collaboration with outerwear legend Penfield. There were lots of dapper dudes in attendance. We've got pics of some of the coolest fashion statements after the jump.

STREET PICS: THE FACEHUNTER IN STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN

The Facehunter is out in Stockholm documenting the fashion scene on the streets out there during Stockholm Fashion Week. Lots of black and gray, lots of exaggerated shapes and sizes, and tons of cute statement eyewear. There's a real style movement that takes inspiration from the '80s New Wave thing happening on ths streets in Sweden. A lot of these kids look just like the kids in my high school class of '87.

More pics after the jump.

STREET PICS: THE SARTORIALIST IN FLORENCE

Unfortunately we can't be at Pitti Uomo this season but we can only imagine the style statements that we're missing on the men who are attending the show. Pitti is, after all the largest menswear show, and its location in Italy- where the best luxury menswear is made, just increases the amount of stylish men athat re out there. The Sartorialist is in Italy this week  documenting some of the sartorial standouts for men.style.com and we're sure there are plenty of fashion statements on the streets.  We've got a few after the jump.

STREET FASHION: STREETPEEPER IN SEOUL

The kids over at StreetPeeper are relentless in their pursuit of amazing street fashion. They've got style scouts all over the world who snap away at the best fashion statements they can find, AND give you a breakdown of what designers are being worn, AND even link you directly to the designers' sites. We think they're pretty cool. They've been shooting some of the most creative people in Seoul Korea recently. It looks like the kids down there are doing some pretty avant-garde stuff. Check out a few hightlights after the jump.
