MR MORT'S RULES TO LIVE BY

Via Dejour: This is the inaugural edition of what will be an ongoing series featuring the sartorial sapience and practical wisdom of the many men that Dejour respect, admire, and secretly wish we were.  Our first dispatch comes from Mr. Mort himself, Mordechai S. Rubenstein, Jack Spade’s magnificent mouthpiece and all-round exemplary New Yorker.

A man should always be genuine.                   A man should never don women’s jeans.
A man Is in serious trouble when wearing a shirt untucked with a tie before midnight.
More after the jump.

If you can’t have a Hasselblad, at least have a Lumix.

Personally, I find new menswear repulsive, because it isn’t genuine.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. When in need, a clandestine trip to Jamaica or Paris will make everything better.

There is not much better in this world than Wagwan Radio on Sunday afternoons.

If there ever were a rule that begged on its knees to be broken, it is wearing seersucker or a straw hat after labor day.
