The Burkman Brothers are packing the suitcases again, and heading over to (capsule) Paris next week. We caught up with Doug and Ben and got a small glimpse at their SS 2011 collection, which will debut at (capsule). The collection is inspired by their travels to Sri Lanka, and the brothers have shared with us some photos from their recent travels, after the jump.

Whats the inspiration behind the SS11 collection? The Burkman Bros are known to travel to a new destination in the world to get inspired and design the new collection each season. And for SP11 we headed to the fishing villages on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. Without getting too ethnic we have found the perfect setting for our East meets West sensibility. Local life and color served us well – along with a week at the Aman Sri Lanka!

What do you expect will be some key items in the collection?  Burkman bros Spring includes a vast assortment of men’s bottoms – engineered placement yarn dyes, textured and colorful dobby fabrics, plus some super cool prints – we are your go-to source for novelty pants and shorts. Shirts are our specialty and we have begun to develop quite a following. The fit of our shirts combined with our strength in print and pattern continues to deliver plenty of newness. We love prints this season. Think Revenge of the Nerds: NERDS IN PARADISE. In knits we are especially proud of our slub jersey – you feel fantastic in it!

Burkman bros is not afraid of color and this season it’s a spicy primary palette offered in plenty of lightweight, slub yarn fabrics.
