At this point, Berlin has very capably established itself as an important global center of fashion, with the style set paying close attention to output from the city each season. One brand cutting above the noise in the suddenly-crowded German fashion space is SoPopular. Conceived by brothers James and David Ardinast, along with Oliver Rodriguez-Kroll and Daniel Blechman, SoPopular aims to clothe men who’ve graduated from streetwear and are looking for a more adult wardrobe without losing their edge. The label’s AW10 collection is another step in the developing maturity of the brand, favoring a dark color palette and more sophisticated, tailored pieces than in seasons past. But the playfulness of the clothing the designers loved while they were growing up, from labels like Stussy and A Bathing Ape, is also on display here, in two-toned overcoats and crew-neck sweatshirts bearing the message “It’s Tough To Be SoPopular.” Click through for more images from SoPopular’s AW10 lookbook below.
