The retail event Fashion’s Night Out, which last year saw cities worldwide hold a special shopping day on September 10, will cover six days this year and start on September 7, reported Women’s Wear Daily. This year’s event is set to start in France on September 7, then spread east and west and close in Turkey and Greece on September 16. Sixteen countries are set to take part in the event, which is spearheaded by the international editions of Vogue. The staggered dates of the events are supposed to help cities maximize their sales. “It was done for practical reasons. We wanted to give everybody the flexibility to open on the date that worked best for shoppers and retailers,” a Condé Nast spokeswoman said. France will open the 10-day event on Sept. 7, with Britain and Korea on the 8th; Australia, Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal on the 9th; India, Russia and the US on the 10th; China, Japan and Taiwan on the 11th, and Greece and Turkey wrapping things up on the 16th, WWD found.
